Progressive World is all about advocating for global democracy, giving world citizens a louder voice in matters of governance and fighting for global justice.
Our great historical founders; Rosika Schwimmer and Lola Maverick Lloyd were radical thinkers and activists. Along with their supporters, a motley crew of feminists, suffragists and antifascists, they sought to build a global order that would stand in opposition to imperialism, autocracy, communism and fascism.
We examine historical fascism and begin to dissect the narratives that are shaping modern fascism today. We also place the far-right attacks against the US Capitol Building in context, by illustrating how the mainstreaming of white nationalist rhetoric has breathed new life into far-right extremist movements.
We continue our conversation with Dr. Tom Bruyer of VIVES University College in Belgium, to dive deeper into the BLM protests in Europe, colonialism and finally, the security threats to the EU and how Europe will move forward without the full support and democratic thought leadership of the United States.

Land Acknowledgement
Progressive World Federalists encourage everyone to reflect on the traditional indigenous lands on which they reside, acknowledge the corresponding living treaty relationship, and in accordance with the UN Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, affirm their responsibility to honour these nation to nation treaties. As we are headquartered in Toronto, Canada, traditionally known as Tkaronto or “The place in the water where the trees are standing”, we humbly acknowledge the “One Dish One Spoon Wampum”, the inter-nation treaty that declared the land as a shared commons and pledged peace and mutual support between the Anishinaabek, Haudenosaunee and the Wendat peoples, that later included also French and British settlers.

Progressive World Federalists advocate for democratic reform of international organizations including the United Nations. We believe that the establishment of a global parliamentary assembly will empower citizens of the world with a greater voice in global decision making.

Our increasingly connected world has enabled the birth of a new global consciousness unconstrained by geographic or political divisions. We therefore believe a more sustainable peace in our world can be achieved through the emergence of a cosmopolitan civic identity.

We believe humanity can unite in a spirit of fellowship and fairness to build a better world. We believe progressive economic reforms can reduce inequality and alleviate problems associated with poverty such as food insecurity and poor access to healthcare.
